Join EWHC for the second in a series of conversations with healthcare leaders as they share how their business/practice has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and how they are preparing for the challenges ahead.
Our speaker will be Sara Johnson, Clinical Assistant Professor for the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs and Director of IU Executive Education. Professor Johnson teaches Graduate and Executive Education courses. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) where she serves on the Counselors Committee of the governing board, advising ACHE leadership. She holds a bachelor’s degree in health services management (BSHSM) as well as her master of health administration (MHA) degree from Indiana University, and has pursued doctoral studies at Trinity Seminary.
Professor Johnson teaches courses in executive leadership, individual and organizational behavior, the U.S. health system, policy and ethics, and human resources in health care and public organizations. Professor Johnson also consults with organizations in leadership development and organizational planning and is an Executive Coach for mid-level and senior leaders. Her areas of expertise include executive leadership, the health care industry, organizational behavior and development, nonprofit leadership, governance and strategic planning.
Participants will learn about how very important their role as a leader is in times of rapid and unpredictable change. Leading during times of uncertainty require additional skills and heightened emotional intelligence. Participants will learn about the concept of Sensemaking and how essential it is to leaders as they continue to lead through the COVID-19 pandemic and into the future.
